The Story Behind Pickleball 365 and the Next Chapter Ahead

For the past two years, I have intentionally kept a pretty low public profile when it comes to Pickleball 365. Our brand has been visible in the community, but my personal role in building it has been much less public. That was by design.

When Deanna and I started Pickleball 365, I was also balancing a full-time corporate career. I cared deeply about both, and I never wanted there to be any question about my commitment or focus in either direction.

So, while Deanna became the heart and face of our community, I stayed mostly behind the scenes, developing the business model, implementing the technology, solving problems and helping build the foundation for what Pickleball 365 could become.

But now, it is time for me to step forward and share my story.

In January 2026, my position as Vice President of Technology was eliminated, and after spending much of my career in the corporate world, I suddenly found myself facing an unexpected transition. What could have felt like a setback became the push I needed to step fully into what Deanna and I had been building all along.

The truth is, Pickleball 365 began during a season when I was already thinking about what the next chapter of my life might look like. I had been researching franchise opportunities and looking for the right business to invest in. There were concepts I respected and business models that made sense on paper, but something was always missing. I could not find one I felt genuinely passionate about.

Then pickleball entered our lives.

For Christmas in 2023, our daughter Madison Lorincz and her boyfriend Nathan VanBuskirk gave Deanna and me our first starter JOOLA paddles. Like so many people who discover this sport, we went from zero to one hundred almost overnight! We fell in love with the game, the competition and, most importantly, the people.

We also quickly recognized a challenge that many players in our area were experiencing. Pickleball was growing rapidly, but consistent, high-quality indoor places to play were limited. That was when the idea began to take shape.

Instead of investing in someone else’s franchise concept, I started asking a different question: What if we built something of our own? What if I could combine two things I genuinely loved (technology and pickleball) to create a better experience for players?

With my wife, best friend and co-founder, Deanna Lorincz, by my side, we took a leap of faith and began building something very few people had attempted at the time: a premium, fully autonomous indoor pickleball facility designed around the kind of experience we wanted as players ourselves. Premium courts. Simple, around-the-clock access. Technology integrated throughout the experience. Exceptional programming. And, above all, a welcoming community where people could play, improve, compete, connect and belong.

We built Pickleball 365 while we were both still working full-time. There were long days, late nights, financial risks and more than a few moments when we looked at each other and wondered if we were completely crazy. Then, on October 15, 2024, we opened our founding memberships. Within the first 24 hours, 128 people joined.

That was the moment I knew Pickleball 365 was more than an idea. It was something our community genuinely wanted and needed.

While the original concept may have started with me, Deanna brought it to life. She built the community that makes Pickleball 365 what it is today. She knows our members, supports our coaches, welcomes new players and creates the kind of environment people want to return to again and again. Her ability to make people feel seen, valued and included has become one of the strongest foundations of our brand.

I am also incredibly proud that Pickleball 365 is a veteran-owned business. My time in the United States Marine Corps gave me the discipline, resilience and leadership foundation needed to build something like this. But one of the most important lessons I have learned over the past two years is that building a successful business is not only about having a strong plan.

It is about people.

Our Fair Haven community embraced us more quickly and wholeheartedly than I ever imagined. Together, our members transformed Pickleball 365 into something much greater than a place to play. It has become a true third space, a place outside of home and work where friendships are formed, confidence grows and people feel like they belong.

Our coaches pour their knowledge, energy and encouragement into helping players grow. Our partners West Shaw at Johns Design & Consulting, Ben Borton at PodPlay Technologies and JOOLA believed in our vision and helped us create an experience unlike anything else in our market. Every person who walked through our doors played a role in shaping what Pickleball 365 has become.

Before we opened, I was warned many times: “Do not start a pickleball facility if you want to play more pickleball.” I am happy to report that it is possible to own and operate a pickleball facility and still play the game you love nearly every day. Deanna and I participate in open play four or five nights a week, not because we feel obligated to be there, but because there is nowhere else we would rather be. There is no better way to understand your customers than to be one of them.

Today, Pickleball 365 is no longer the side project I worked on behind the scenes. It is my full-time focus and a mission I feel deeply called to pursue.

What began with two starter paddles, an idea and a leap of faith, has grown into a next-generation indoor pickleball experience, and now, a franchise opportunity with the potential to bring that experience to communities across the country.

As CEO, I am ready to step forward, share more of our journey and lead Pickleball 365 into this next chapter. I am excited. I am grateful. I am humbled. And I am ready for what comes next.
